PrintMaking Design
In order to develop my printmaking skills, I have attended a number of courses and workshops. I have explored and learnt about various new processes and techniques which have enhanced my practice. These even inspired me to purchase my very own print press and develop a number of print-related projects from my studio at home including greeting cards and wrapping paper patterns. Although I have explored and specialise in other media, printmaking remains my favourite of all for a number of reasons including the process’ therapeutic effects, the element of surprise when seeing my inked print plate for the first time, or even the fact that many printmaking processes can be done from the comfort of my own home.

Leaf Pattern Prints
Pattern Design 'Swallows' For McQueen Creators
The brief was to create my own print by using the following iconic Alexander McQueen prints for inspiration. The task was to find or build own tools and materials to make own stamps, blocks or devise a screen to print with. Or simply free-hand draw or paint your interpretation.
I choose to do a lino print to create my print.
Postcards - Open Call Prints
Fronteer Gallery in Sheffield had a task for there exhibition project to design some A6 postcard size prints and the artwork could be from different backgrounds of any medium apart from audio or visual work.
The inspiration for these prints come from looking at some surreal architecture to create a mirrored print.
The Art Post Letterbox Gallery: Open Call for UK Artists
The Art Post, as featured by the BBC and The Yorkshire Post, is a wax-sealed miniature art gallery that lands on the doorstep of hundreds of art-lovers across the UK. In each Art Post, they showcase four masterpieces by four up and coming artists on postcards, for art-lovers across the UK to discover some of the most exciting emerging talent.
The task for this competition was that you could submit any artwork of any size, and price.
The Art Post sent out four times a year, a
hand wax-sealed
leaflet and every Post comes with a Meet the Artists booklet to discover the artist, their inspiration, and a QR code to buy each piece featured.
Wanted to create something, which relates to the Yorkshire area. A friend of mine told me about the snake benches around the area ( Berwick, Harrogate ). I thought it's an interesting subject to work with so I read about the history and the meaning behind the benches. For example, that Harrogate is a spa town and that Asclepius, the Greek god of health and medicine has great influence to this area. I wanted to come up with something simple and interesting towards a design. The history about the name Asclepius the Greek God of health and medicine, which also represents a plant known as Milkweed and that is used to treat some skin and other health conditions.
The meaning about the design:
The Snake represents the people caring and looking after us and the plant is the medicine that healths us.
Walk The Line - The House of Smalls Art Gallery
Walk The Line will be two shows in one - a big world exhibition and another in the dollhouse, and artists are invited to submit to either or both shows. The theme and title of both exhibitions is the same and very much open to interpretation - but all work MUST somewhere feature a prominent horizontal line.
The call was for all mediums of original 2D artwork, photography and digital work but no video and 3D work can be accepted for the large show.
In the brief it didn't say, specific how and what style the inside of the dollhouse should look like, just it has to have a prominent horizontal line within the artwork.!!
The idea and inspiration for the design, I found within looking at some architecture.
I mirrored an abstract building, from which I created my own version of design.
The design has floating feel within the connection between the distance of each shape.
Also it has a art deco and 80's vibe to it, which makes the artwork very interesting and different.
